At the end of the 1970s the revolutionary Air Sole unit made its way into the Nike Footwear line. In 1987 the Nike Air Max 1 shoe, the first model with a visible Air Max unit in the heel, came onto the market, allowing fans to discover visually the characteristics of this technology, as well as trying out its benefits. A few years later, the new Nike Air Max became a highly successful model among both sportspeople and collectors. The shoe has been produced in exclusive colour combinations, providing exceptional lightweight design and cushioning.
The Nike Air Max 2014 running shoe optimises your performance thanks to the lighter and more flexible Air Max cushioning system and the new upper capable of offering incredible support.
The full-length articulated Air Max unit combines maximum cushioning with an improved flexibility for greater comfort while running. The tubular structure provides greater air circulation around the sole of the foot, for smoother transitions from the heel to the toes. The engineered mesh upper provides ventilation and targeted support. The lightweight foam with perforated inserts adds an additional layer of support, adapting itself to the shape of the foot for added strength and better breathability. The lightweight outsole with Waffle pattern has been redesigned to distribute weight more evenly to give a softer and more elastic ride and increase the grip.
