Vans 50th Anniversary
Today is a day of great celebrations, Vans has reached an extraordinary milestone, 50 years “off the wall”.
It is a very important date which the brand has decided to celebrate in grand style.

Vans will be celebrated in ten cities around the globe, from New York to London through Hong Kong, and will have the pleasure of introducing a mashup of eclectic artists, including Nas, Dinosaur Jr., Wu-Tang Clan, The Kills, Erykah Badu, Jamie xx, Dizzee Rascal, Yeasayer, Shlohmo and many others.
Other cities involved will be: Toronto, Mexico City, Sao Paulo, Seoul, Cape Town and Kuala Lumpur.
In London, in the now legendary House of Vans, the programme is bursting of events.

Workshops, shoes customization, exhibition on the brand history, music shows and a 3D interactive exhibition of Vans 2016 advertising campaign.
The lucky ones who will take part in the event will have a chance to move through Vans history and take a closer look at the installations focused on the heirlooms evoking 50 years of milestones.
To honour and tell the story of the evolution of its design, Vans has partnered up with the popular collectors @Skateboardmuseum Berlin and @PillowHeat of The Other Side of the Pillow, setting up a gallery of Vans vintage products.
This is just the beginning of a 2016 under the banner of global expansion for House of Vans, which stresses once again Vans commitment towards promoting creativity through extreme sports, art, music and urban culture.
Throughout the year, Vans will organize a series of activities, including skateboard demos, music events, interactive design workshops and artistic installations, to keep encouraging the creative communities which have been supporting Vans for the last 50 years.
Besides numerous initiatives, there will be no shortage of new product releases designed specifically for the occasion, which will put on display the brand’s design, always on trend, and innovation.
In January, for example, there were the celebrations for the legendary Sk8-Hi, the signature model which epitomizes the historical and progressive value of the Vans brand. The Sk8-Hi is appreciated by many for its simplicity and adaptability to different contexts and cultures. To underline its versatility, Vans has worked together with a group of characters which contributed to the narration of the history of the Sk8-Hi and its impact on expression.
A well-stocked group: Steve Caballero, the artist nominated for a Grammy Syd tha Kyd, the Vans skateboard team athlete Lizzie Armanto, the punk icon Henry Rollins, the popular artist and entertainer Jay Howell, the top model Natalie Westling and professional surfer and athlete of the Vans team Wade Goodall.

Not bad! This year is going to be phenomenal and full of surprises.
