Black Friday is always a key date for the launch of new Jordan models, with retro models such as the Air Jordan IV “Bred”, the Air Jordan III “Black/Cement” and the Air Jordan XIII “Flint”.
2013 is no exception, but this year’s release is not a new colour like those of previous years. We are pleased that it is an Air Jordan 5 and, while it is not a new colour, it is still one of the “cleanest”-looking models ever released. The black/white/grey shoe colour features the semi-transparent outsole as a single point of colour.
The Air Jordan 5 was originally launched in February 1990. It features a unique style created by Tinker Hatfield (the man who created the Nike shoes that Marty MacFly wears in the movie Back to the Future II). At the time there were four colourways for the Air Jordan 5: two of these had 23, Jordan’s number, on the side. A basketball shoe in leather with an Air system in the sole, the Air Jordan 5 was the first Jordan model to feature a transparent rubber outsole. to improve traction. It also features a lace lock on the tongue.
The new Air Jordan 5 Oreo model reintroduces the semi-transparent outsole and the aviation-inspired style by the legendary Nike designer Tinker Hatfield. The Nike Air unit provides cushioning while the upper in leather and Durabuk gives this shoe a great look and exceptional comfort. Upper in full grain leather and Durabuk for an elegant look and maximum comfort. Air Max unit in the heel and forefoot for ultra-lightweight cushioning. Outsole in rubber with herringbone pattern for improved grip. Inner lining for perfect grip and a snug fit. Flex grooves in the outsole for enhanced flexibility.
