9 July in Piazzola sul Brenta MASSIVE ATTACK
A great return for the incredible Massive Attack four years on from their last live performance in Italy.
The duo composed of Del Naja and Daddy G will go on stage this evening at the Hydrogen Festival Company Arena in Piazzola sul Brenta (PD).
Without doubt this British band is among the most innovative on the international music scene, inventors of trip hop rightfully acclaimed over the years as having influenced more than one generation of musicians while remaining the point of reference for electronic music their sound introspective and dark, managing to combine musical influences from house to techno and rock.
Unforgettable songs such as “Teardrop” and “Karmacoma”, which have certainly left their mark on the international music scene.
Massive Attack have lived a long and troubled history debuting in 1990 with their first single “Daydreaming” which also featured singer Shara Nelson and Tricky, their first album released in 1991: the critically acclaimed BLUE LINES.
Three years later came PROTECTION with the collaboration of Nicolette and the singer from Everything but the girl, Tracey Thorn.
1997 a new EP “Risingson”. One year later they recorded their third work, MEZZANINE, which saw the return of an old collaborator, vocalist Horace Andy, who shared lead vocal duties with the Cocteau Twins’ Elizabeth Frazer and Sara Jay.
In 1999, after the tension created during the album’s production, MushroomVowles left the group, and four years would pass before we would see a new Massive Attack album 100TH WINDOW.
In 2004 they recorded and released the soundtrack of the film DANNY THE DOG. In 2006, they released the retrospective “Collected”, first releasing the previously unpublished “Live with me”.
Their truly tormented history would see the group pass from 2004 directly to 2009 when they made available for sale in digital format the new EP “Splitting the atom”, a preview of their new work in arrival HELIGO LAND, created with the participation of artists such as Damon Albarn (Blur, Gorillaz), Guy Garvey (Elbow), Horace Andy, Martina Topley-Bird, Hope Sandoval (Mazzy Star), Tunde Adebimpe (Tv On The Radio).
You wouldn’t want to miss it, would you? Better not!!
